Imagine you are late to a train. You reach the platform just as the doors close, and then somehow you are first to the destination. That, roughly, is how GodLike Esports won the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2026.
The headline numbers
- Champions: GodLike Esports, 162 points (104 finish points, 58 placement points, 2 chicken dinners)
- Runners-up: Divine Gaming, 152 points
- Third: Victores Sumus, 133 points
- Prize pool: ₹4,00,00,000
- Venue: JECC, Jaipur
- Dates: 8 to 21 June 2026, starting from 512 teams
- Prize beyond the cheque: a direct seat at the Esports World Cup
Day 1: how to start badly
After the first day of the Grand Finals, GodLike were 16th out of 16. Last place. Not "slow start" last, but "has a long way up" last. The organisers called it the greatest comeback in BGMI history, and the scoreboard backs up the drama.
The thing about a 16-team, 18-match Grand Finals is that nothing is decided early. Each match can produce 10 placement points for a win plus however many finishes you can stack. A team that has a bad day can recover if it finds a good one, and that is exactly what GodLike did.
Day 3: how to finish well
GodLike's numbers over the three days are, honestly, ridiculous:
- 104 finish points: the highest in the lobby (Divine had 96, Team Apex 95, Gods Reign 93)
- 58 placement points: also the highest in the lobby (Divine had 56)
- 2 chicken dinners: level with Divine, Victores Sumus, Team Apex, Vasista and Reckoning
Read that again. The team that was last after Day 1 finished with the best fight score and the best survival score of the whole event. That does not happen by accident. In the end they took first by ten points, in a final match the organisers described as one for the ages.
What a comeback actually looks like (a fictional chat)
A fictional chat between two friends, Priya (new to BGMI) and Rohan (has opinions about everything). The rules and numbers are real; the banter is ours.
Priya: So how do you recover from last place?
Rohan: You do not do it in one match. You do it by being the best team in the lobby for the other two days.
Priya: Even after a bad Day 1?
Rohan: The scoreboard has a short memory. 16th on Day 1 just means you have a lot of room above you.
Priya: That is the most optimistic thing I have ever heard.
Rohan: It is also arithmetic.
The rest of the table
- 4. Gods Reign: 128

- 7. iQOO Team Tamilas: 116
- 8. Vasista Esports: 113

Further down: iQOO 8BIT (11th, 103), Genesis Esports (12th, 99), iQOO SOUL (13th, 96), 7Gods Esports (14th, 95), iQOO Revenant XSpark (15th, 86) and Myth Official (16th, 63).
Why it mattered
This was GodLike's first official BMPS trophy, and the seat at the Esports World Cup raised the stakes from "India's champions" to "India's representatives at a global event." Not a bad return on a Day 1 that nobody wants to remember.
Looking back (added 25 October)
Four months on, two details in that table look different. iQOO SOUL finished 13th here, then won BMSD in October on top of their BGIS title. And iQOO 8BIT finished 11th, then took third in Hyderabad. BMPS was a reminder that one result does not define a team's year. The season's central argument, GodLike's big trophy against SOUL's two, is in our season review.
