Tilt Control Reset Routine

Tilt is when frustration drives your decisions. You rush fights, ignore the plan and blame teammates. Pros lose too. The difference is that they reset fast.

Early signs

  • You are pushing faster than your IGL called.
  • You say "it's always like this" or "my team is useless."
  • You stop checking the radar, and your callouts get short and angry.

The 30-second reset

  1. Breathe out slowly, 4 seconds in, 6 seconds out, twice. This lowers your heart rate.
  2. Name it: "I'm tilted." Saying it takes the power away.
  3. Reset the target: the last fight is over. The next circle is the only thing you can influence.
  4. Do one useful task: check ammo, heal, or give a callout. Action replaces anger.

For the squad

Agree a team word, like "reset," that anyone can say. It means everyone pauses for ten seconds, breathes and returns to the plan. Do not use it as an accusation.

Between matches

After a bad loss, take a 5-minute break. Walk, drink water. Do not queue immediately. If you lose three in a row, stop for the day and review instead. Training the reset while you are calm is what makes it work when you are not.

Drill of the day

Write your own 4-step reset on a sticky note and put it by your phone. Use it after your next lost fight, however small.
